Despite the obvious, maybe all time offensive firepower they’ve assembled, I can’t seem to shake the feeling that there is no chance in hell we see them making noise past the first or second round. Curious to hear the counter arguments, if that’s how you really feel.

People kinda forget that the suns were the second best team last year, just because they dropped out in the second round.

If not for the Nuggets the Suns easily beat the Lakers and Heat, they were the only team that got even close to putting up a fight against the Nuggets.

So yes, they are serious contenders.

People overrated their performance in that series. It took Booker going on the biggest heater I have ever seen for them to eek out 2 close home wins, and they got totally blown out outside of that. Even with those two wins, they had by far the worst point differential against the Nuggets of any of the 4 opponents.

Not sure why you're downvoted, this is 100% true.

Their losses were by 18, 10, 16 and 25 points. The only time where it was close in those 4 games going into the 4th quarter was game 2.

Despite not getting swept the Suns really didn't look better than the Lakers against the Nuggets. In the games the Suns lost they were absolutely dominated. It is not a given that they would have won the title

If ham could coach and not play dlo every game 30 minutes do was -45 in 3 games was crazy to me. Could have been a much better series game wise, i think the lakers played them tighter they actually had a chance to win 4 games…suns got destroyed in some of theirs however they did win 2.

Not really, the only close game was game 4 people pretend like those were one score games when it was really just double digit leads that shrunk a little due to Denver playing the time. Lakers had absolutely nothing to offer when the lights shined brightest.

The only thing the had was social media posts telling themselves that NOW they figured the Nuggets out....after the first three games and then a "well it was kind of close for a sweep" after the fourth.

You didn’t watch a fucking game did you?

Game 1: 3 point game with 45 seconds left.
Game 2: 2 point game with 49 seconds left.
Game 3: ONLY game that your narrative fits
Game 4: 2 point loss.

3 of the 4 games were 1 possession with less than a minute left and you morons act like they were blowout losses. Dumbasses

Meanwhile the "close" series against the Suns had 18, 16, and 25 point blowouts.

I was rooting for the Nuggets and I really didn't feel like the Suns were much more threatening than the Lakers. The only reason that the Suns were able to keep it somewhat close in the beginning was Bookers historic hot streak were it was absolutely clear that it was not sustainable. After that they quickly folded

I mean, they did lose CP3 and Ayton during the series. But i do agree they ran out of steem.

yeah looking back at all the improvements we have made in the offseason, i can admit now that we really were just a 2 man show last year. CP3 and Ayton were barely useable even against the clippers and we know how it turned out against the nugs. we were counting on the likes of Shamet, Ross, Damion Lee, and washed Warren to do something significant, and that was no good.

with that being said, I feel we are much improved from the team that Denver bounced. depth is a non issue now imo. our bench is not only better than last year's but also way less one dimensional.

and this is not even mentioning Beal, who we got for basically nothing.

from what i can see now, the only major question mark is interior defense with Nurk, but it's not like Ayton wasnt getting abused by Jokic either.
