I once proclaimed The Simmons & Embid duo was going to be more dangerous than Stockton & Malone.

I thought Kawhi was gonna bring the clips to the promise land.

I mean the problem is the clippers first year with both of them was very promising. You guys matched up very well with the lakers that year. I don’t know what happened in that series vs the nuggets but Kawhi and George are a lethal combo so you got that going for you.

Thing to remember is Kawhi was never a leader. He was in a basketball haven in SAS playing with Timmy at the end and then they kept basically the same team and swapped in LMA for Timmy.

Then he went to a team in Toronto with an established culture and tone set by Kyle Lowry, a team that had been a top 4 seed for at least a few years straight.

Only after that was he ever expected to be a leader and it's just not really who he is.
