There are a few teams that come to mind when talking about being a disappointment.
Sixers will probably be another 2nd round exit with or without harden so is it really a disappointment anymore? this is who they are
Clippers will also most likely be an early playoff exit when Kawhi and/or PG gets eventually get hurt. Or westbrook boneheaded plays costs them games late in the 4th.
I dont know what people are expecting from dallas. Got a superstar in Luka but Kyrie has got to be the most destructive player in NBA history. He will somehow implode this team. Cant figure out exactly how yet.
I think the Suns will be the biggest disappointment this year. They are one of the title favorites. However this glass cannon build wont fare well in the playoffs. I can see a big physical team like the Lakers dominate in the paint and knock them out. Sure the big 3 can put up 90 but it wont be enough.
Thunder. Sga is top 5 apparently and Everyone is predicting they make the playoffs. They’re still a young team, could easily see them not make the playin
Barring injury I can’t see the thunder being below 8th seed. SGA could Regress and Chet still looks like enough of a force to carry them to eight seed.
(In no particular order) Nuggets, Suns, Lakers, Warriors, Kings, Clippers, Grizzlies, Thunder, Pelicans, Mavericks, Wolves.
11 playoff capable teams which means one isn't going to make it. But that back half if not most of the WC is log jammed. We saw it last year too. The question isn't if OKC has the skill because every single one has it. It's who is slightly better or even just slightly healthier.
If you watch much Shai, you'd see he is a top level baller. Of course, what a team produces isn't representative of that always but I have seen the opposite of regression. The real question would be can they coalesce as a unit to push other teams out of the playoffs.
