If you're still a student and need a good watch for daily use, buy a Seiko 5 or similar, and some index ETFs.
In other words, spend money on actual investments if you can, especially if you're young, as that will grow. After you have a good nest egg of investments, a sound strategy of investments well-maximized to make for a comfortable life, and all your needs and bills taken care of, and still have disposable income left over, then you can buy a watch using the rule that if you can't spend at least twice the amount ot costs with just the loose cash you have on hand, completely left over from taking care of all of the above, you can't really afford it. If you really want to be smart, apply the same rule to cars.
