You can buy a older 39mm Speedmaster for about $1500
Pretty solid entry
Lots of fakes though. Pretty scary for a new watch guy.
If you're still a student and need a good watch for daily use, buy a Seiko 5 or similar, and some index ETFs.
In other words, spend money on actual investments if you can, especially if you're young, as that will grow. After you have a good nest egg of investments, a sound strategy of investments well-maximized to make for a comfortable life, and all your needs and bills taken care of, and still have disposable income left over, then you can buy a watch using the rule that if you can't spend at least twice the amount ot costs with just the loose cash you have on hand, completely left over from taking care of all of the above, you can't really afford it. If you really want to be smart, apply the same rule to cars.
Pelagius 39 is solid. Or a Black Bay Pro, or any other Tudor that you like. Keep in mind service costs, though, for any higher end brands.
I think Tudor BB58 is well worth it. Pelagos 39 is an awesome watch too, and maybe a tad more versatile depending on your style. I am yet to find an outfit the BB58 doesn't look great with though - the gilt dial is something special.
What type are you?
Military, dress watch, luxury watch, digital, etc.
Find your taste. Look at pictures. See if you crave the design. Then look for models with that design in your budget that are highly rated.
Only £3K what are you ,poor?
Yeah 3k isn't really enough for a watch. Need to get up to 10k. Use your phone to tell the time for now.
I made 5k today so I have 8k now, or should i js steal my dads ap or patek
