[Zenith] Why does Zenith have such poor brand recognition and lack of prestige among laypeople/non-watch people? (alien.top)

Basically the title. Zenith makes some pretty stellar and innovative watches imo. I also love their history and style. However, the brand recognition outside of watch lovers is pretty dismal. And while I generally buy watches for me, I do want the watches I buy (particularly those I’m paying $5k-10k for) to have some brand recognition among the public. What happened with Zenith in this respect? Or am I giving the public too little credit?

I wear a Speedmaster, which is basically the most common luxuary watch.

Not once in five years of daily wear have I gotten a comment about it. I don't really care about that either. Why is the brand recognition so important for you? You need everyone to know you wear a expensive watch? In that case, buy a rolex. But 90% of people will assume it's a fake:)
