When he was running for President he paid for a huge billboard in Madrid just a 100 meters from the Bernabeu saying “looking forward to seeing you again”. The man is obsessed with Madrid

He is a Barca fan so ofc he is. Just like Madrid fans are obsessed with Barca. That is just how it is.

Definitely not how it is. You should catch up on Spanish history, it will give you a better understanding of the Catalonia mindset, particularly towards Madrid.
