Reminds me of an old story about Ted Williams, when he tried (and failed miserably) to be a hitting coach.

Wayne Gretzky had a similar situation when he was a coach. He tried to tell his team to pull off a specific manuver if the defenders were coming in quickly and his players were like "yeah we can't physically do that".

It's shit like this that has me convinced LeBron will be a horrible executive when he retires. The only all time great NBA players that excelled as an executive to my knowledge were Larry Bird and Jerry West. And Bird is the only one I remember who was able to coach
