I don't know much about mimicry, but I'm pretty sure the point of praying barbie's outfit is, that butterflies and bees also love her.

Iirc they use their spiny legs to hold and rip and they don't just suck them dry, but I'm not sure how much chitin is usually consumed vs wasted and I'm far from an expert, I just think they're neat!
