I thought not having a plate meant your vehicle wasn't allowed to move until you fixed that?

I’M NOT MOVING, I’M TRAVELING AND BASED ON THE ARTICLES OF CONFEDERATION…

Based on naval law this is a tugboat capable of moving your mother, officer.

I was just traveling to SeaWorld to tow her.

No tugboat is that strong.

Technically but not to sovcits.

But the officer just wrote them a ticket so it's a fine not an impoundment or anything.

Once even I was much younger I got pulled over and ticketed for an expired vehicle registration. After accepting the ticket I asked the officer how I could now get home, since I was just told that I was not permitted to drive.

The officer said something along the lines of "well you're not supposed to drive and it'll be a big problem if I see you driving again". Then got back in his patrol car, turned around, and left in the opposite direction.

I drove directly home (it wasn't far) and renewed my registration as soon as possible.

...that said, I'd be very surprised to see a sovcit get that kind of leniency.

All sovcit heard was "so it's fine"

[–] kautau@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The sovcit is going to write on the ticket that because his name is capitalized on his birth certificate it’s not him and send it back

On a thirty degree angle.

Yeah that's what confuses me about some of these stories, mean I'm not from the locations but I always thought no plate meant it was being impounded. Like how could an officer let them continue driving without proper registration and insurance? That seems reckless on the officer's actions, what if there was a collision? Unless I'm missing something which is very possible, I don't know laws everywhere, gotta take the stories with a grain of salt it seems.
