We see after every season how people turn on players in the recent years after giving them so much praise and how they uplift one player after one season

If the Thunder don’t make the playoffs convincingly this season, then I think people will start to turn on Shai

[–] Next-Firefighter-753@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago (2 children)

100% you guys and the media have been hyping the shit out of us. If we miss out on the playoffs I may have to spend a few days off the sub.

Should we not tho? You got a generational player in Shai who somehow got this team in the play in and then you got another Generational, 2 way talent at Center who’s playing for the first time this season not to mention Giddey, Jdub, Dort and etc so I feel like the hype is warrant here lol

Honestly you should legit be banned for this comment

Luka took a worse team to the WCF and people are hyping up Shai for taking a solid team to the play-in. And Shai is older. Hilarious how different the standards are.

You realise what generational means right? Lebron was generational, Kobe, MJ, wemby (if he stays healthy). Shai’s amazing, not generational.

[–] indicisivedivide@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Kobe was not generation prospect. He was a very raw talent. Only reason they could not reach the finals till 2000.

has a good pre-season

Generational talent.

This sub is 80% haters man. Shai is the golden child now, enjoy it. They will turn on him like they always do and you’ll realize how much you need to ignore everything anyone says here.

[–] 30another@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

And even if they do, whatever team’s fanbases he plays against, will turn against him from all the free throws he gets.

I don’t at all. I’ve watched that guy win by himself a bunch of times. If they don’t make the playoffs I’d feel comfortable saying it’s not on him unless he drastically took a step back.

I think Halli’s contrast between being a top 6 or so fantasy player versus his actual value is gonna hurt him in conversations.

And where exactly would you fall if the Thunder don’t “convincingly” make the playoffs?

[–] yoloqueuesf@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Feels like the west is stacked though and anything can happen. How are they going to make it convincingly when there's the nuggets, suns, lakers, clippers, warriors that on paper are better than the Thunder.

My opinion on SGA wouldn’t change unless something completely drastic happened, but I noticed that the general masses will always flip on players if they don’t win consistently

Even if it was out of their control (poor trades, injuries, awful team…etc)

Naw Haliburton is entering only his 4th year, Shai is entering his 6th. Another year or two away before that happens

[–] number90901@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Holy shit SGA has been around for 6 years.

[–] indicisivedivide@alien.top 1 points 11 months ago

Larry Bird just rejoined the Pacers. Maybe they are now interested in contending.
