It wouldnt surprise me if this is the year Dame takes a big step back. I dont think playing alongside Giannis will be quite as perfect a duo as everyone is making it seem
I thought their 2 man game in preseason would just pop off of the screen but it really hasn’t. Dame looks half a step slower & the natural chemistry with Giannis isn’t there just yet.
Then again that duo could just run through the league and win 55+ games lol we’ll see
You’re a Boston fan, aren’t you? He played better than ever last season. What makes you think he’s going to suddenly get worse this year, a hunch? I’d say it’s more likely he gets reinvigorated playing for a good team with a shot at a championship.
I don’t believe that Dame played his best basketball last year, idc what the stats say. I said they could win 55+ lol that’s no easy feat. I just thought the Dame/Giannis P&R would be unreal and it just seems really good right now, I’m cool with giving it time
Preseason is meaningless. Last year the Bucks were 0-5 in the preseason and then went on to start their season with a nine game win streak. Dame has looked rusty but from what I’ve seen he typically struggles in the preseason. But I digress, Dame might lose a little something this season. But, he’s still going to be very good and that might be enough to take the Bucks to the next level.
Dame hadn't played since march and was just waiting to be traded in the offseason, he definitely looked rusty in his preseason games.
As someone else said, good chance that he needs half a season or more just to get back into it and adjusted to the new system.
Being a Celtics fan means ive witnessed the sharp decline of point guards. It happens almost out of nowhere. Its essentially a certainty it happens at some point during his current contract, and while I agree the preseason isnt going to be completely indicative of his actual season, it might be the first sign of age. Ive also been slightly lower on Dame than consensus ever since the Olympics where it felt like he didnt really fit in with other talented players
