Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Being an ICE agent is not some immutable inherent quality of people. Nobody is born an ICE agent, they all choose the job with the full knowledge of what ICE is doing. They are scum.

I agree. It's the words subhuman and vermin specifically that were used by Hitler and Trump. I don't even care that they're used, I'm just pointing out that maybe other words are better.

Broken, fucked up, worthless scum…yea no it just keeps going back. We’re a social species, we survive because we work together, and this is just the complete opposite of that. It’s fucking disgusting behaviour.

They’re pissed about things that aren’t choices, and that really aren’t hurting anyone. We’re pissed about stuff they could stop right this minute and that are causing astronomical levels of damage. There’s something deeply wrong with them, and while I still agree to their right to a free trial that’s easy for me to say as a straight white male and I’m not going to raise a fuss if someone fights for their life and kills a few of these shitbags in the process.

The US is could have done things nicely a long time ago, but now they’re literally under physical attack by pathetic excuses for human beings. If ICE wants to play military they should get the fight they’re looking for, and those cowards won’t be able to handle it.

I agree with everything you said. I think the life of every ICE agent is forfeit because it's a voluntary position of the worst humans. If they all took their own lives, the world would instantly be a better place. If some individual went on a spree and took a bunch out, I'd applaud their effort. It's the choice words that I think are not good due to their history.

I understand what you’re getting at, truly I do, but I’m not sure how to tackle it.

Like, no matter the intention I’m not about to say the N-word because of its history and so to keep it consistent I’d want to obviously also fully agree with you. But that word is also highly specific to a group of people and is a slur based on the colour of their skin. Subhuman, when used by the Nazis, was directed at anyone who was not some perfect Aryan(despite, of course, the Nazis not even being that ideal most of the time) and was also attacking their race, sexuality, and ability.

When used here it’s so much more generic a term. I might avoid it, but I’m also willing to say that ICE agents are broken and don’t really value their lives too much so am I really being a better person? Is the end result really any different? The biggest thing is that they chose it all, and if they simply stopped then, other than still putting them on trial for being fucking awful, I’d slow down a lot that very same minute.
