China- genocide, human rights violations, no free speech, Tiananmen square massacre. North Korea- do I really need to say anything about this one? El Salvador is authoritarian now and is playing along with the US's prison camp bs, and Russia started an unprovoked war and killed hundreds of thousands of innocent lives while committing multiple war crimes in the process.
Apart from Russia and North Korea, how are the other two any of our business? Especially over an event that happened 30 years ago. Since then we've had things like the Iraq war.

Example- if I shoot somebody and 30yrs later someone I don't like shoots two people am I suddenly freed from what I've done? El Salvador agreed to take Trump's "illegal" immigrants into one of their max security prisons with horrible living conditions.

American outlet. Not surprised. Just sounds like an over-exaggerated article on a terrorism prevention campaign. Europe and especially the middle east has had issues with Islamic terrorism. I doubt the sterilisation thing is true, unless it was an over zealous local official (often a local official does something stupid and western media starts depicting it as national policy). I saw a news report in China on TV highlighting the start of a local Uyghur festival in Urumqi. So they clearly aren't trying to pretend like they don't exist. They seem to take pride in their ethnic minorities over there from what I've observed.
