Im not asking for one. I dont even want one. But states aren't just going to lay down and take this power grab, and they havent been since Trump admin came back into office.
I'm well aware of how devastating a civil war would be. But, I dont think this administration is giving people a choice. They're basically telling people to shut up and take what the Trump admin is doing and like it. That doesn't go over very well when the consequences of that are an authoritarian government intent on making every single person's life worse. Our system is crumbling before our eyes, and sadly we all just have to sit here and watch it happen bcz a few countries and Fox News have been spreading propaganda around our country for a few decades.
This is a culmination of a plan thats been in motion since at least the 80s.
This. Like good God, can you folks going "But um, you aren't prepared for civil war..." fuck off? Who the fuck is ever prepared for any war of any kind? War is fubar. But everything else is already fubar. What are we supposed to do? Just sit on our asses while they kill us? It's like because you think war is so bad that there's no reason to ever go to it? Even when our voices, our rights to freedoms, are being stripped away, our friends and families are being ripped apart, our way of living is being taken apart, that none of it is worth going to war over?
Fuck if you ask me, that'd be the first time in a long time that America has gone to war over anything worth a damn.
I don't think states have the ability to wage a war like they did in the 1800s. The federal government has centralized so much power since then. Back then, all you needed were muskets and cannons and bodies. Nowadays, it's a completely different battlefield. And guess who has ultimate authority over every State's national guard? The DoD. I would hope that the commanders of those national guard units would pledge loyalty to the Constitution and their States before whatever the fuck this regime is, but Trump and his lackeys have been actively pushing out all commanders that aren't loyalists.
Optimistic of you to think people will fight back
They already are...have you not been keeping track of the news?
