I wonder if these students have tried filing a human rights complaint? I know it would take too goddamn long and they wouldn't have their needs met in the meantime, but something ought to be done. This is discrimination based on gender identity and nationality

I saw this a few days ago. I'm infuriated. Should Canadian universities ban students from gay clubs if they're from countries where being gay is illegal? That would be fucking ridiculous

Trump is probably bragging about how he's making them big beautiful numbers grow

Is that the one with no chapter divisions? It's like you're expected to read it all in one sitting, they put no breaks in

I'm actually currently watching the animated Guardians of the Galaxy show and I recognized Star Lord's voice as Ron Stoppable. I never would have made the connection to Eric from Boy Meets World without looking it up though

I also recognized his father's voice as Jonathan Frakes, known for Star Trek and Gargoyles

I recently watched Kyle XY on Disney+. I don't think any of the actors in that did much noteworthy after. The actress that played Jessie is Lady Sif in the Thor movies. The guy who played Josh was in a short lived medical sitcom called Carol's Second Act, which is funny because there was an episode where Josh said he wanted to be a doctor.

Anyway, I find when the majority of the cast aren't really known for anything else, it gives the show more of an air of mystique, like it almost comes from another world

There's so much more to the books than that. You can't assume someone's beliefs by what fiction they enjoy

The whole system needs an overhaul. There's no way to trust the system anymore

Eggs are so easy to go without too. I've never purchased an egg in my life

Ba ha ha ha ha. What makes you think that matters? Trump will make it legal

My biggest fear is the rest of the world bowing down to Trump. I really want the rest of the world to formally recognize the Untied States as a fascist dictatorship that everyone needs to stay away from

If you get caught, you still achieve your goal

In cartoons, they usually use yellow or white as a substitute for blonde. Why is it not possible to make blonde markers/paint?

Not saying it is happening, it just occurred to me that it could

Abraham and his wife Sarah are promised a son. It's taking a long time so she has Abraham impregnate her handmaid, Hagar. Hagar has a son called Ishmael. But eventually Sarah has her own son, Isaac, and casts Hagar and Ishmael out into the wilderness.

Isaac, the favoured younger son, marries Rebekkah, and has two sons. He favours the older son, Essau. Rebekah favours the younger son, Jacob. She tricks Isaac into making Jacob his heir instead of his favourite son.

Jacob falls in love with a woman but is tricked into marrying her older sister first. He ends up marrying both of them and having 12 sons with 4 women (his wives and their handmaids) and he favours the youngest two because they're the sons of the wife he loves. The older sons sell the second youngest into slavery because they're mad dad favours him.

I guess the moral is parents shouldn't play favourites

Where? I've seen pics online of couples dressed as them and posts saying they want to have the kind of love Woody and Jessie have with a romantic partner. They're acting like they're inspired by this great love story that never remotely happened.

I also remember telling someone when Toy Story 4 came out that Woody was going to be reunited with his girlfriend, and they thought I meant Jessie.

Just today I saw some posts on Facebook claiming the two are actually siblings, and lots of comments are claiming that makes them incestuous. It's possible they're trolling but I doubt every one of them is trolling, it seems there are some people who genuinely remember them as a couple

Where does this come from? The fact that they're both cowboys? That seems a bit racist, to just assume the two characters with the most superficial thing in common are romantically involved.

These are popular movies, I would have thought the people talking about them would have actually watched them and watched them recently. I can kind of see if these movies are just a hazy memory they haven't watched since they were kids but the movies are popular enough that surely people are watching them currently. And the fourth movie isn't very old at this point.

Woody was always, from the first movie, romantically involved with Bo Peep. Though Bo isn't in the third movie, the fourth and most recent movie freaking revolves around his relationship with Bo. Jessie is romantically involved with Buzz at the end of the second film and throughout the third. Their relationship weirdly isn't mentioned in the fourth movie, which is one of many problems I have with the fourth movie. Weird they made a whole movie to reunite Woody with Bo and just completely ignored Jessie and Buzz's relationship.

Anyway, at absolutely no point was there anything romantic between Woody and Jessie. Where does that even come from? Just because they're both cowboys? Did these people not even watch the films?

The first that comes to mind for me is The Breakfast Club and I hope it never does have a sequel or remake

The Princess Bride is another good one

Edit: another one of my favourites is Wall.E, my favourite Pixar movie. There are also several other Pixar movies that don't have sequels or remakes yet

There have been brain experiments that suggest you make your decisions before your brain consciously articulates the decisions and reasons for them.

I've known people who I'm pretty confident make up reasons for their choices after the fact. But are they really lying if they believe what they're saying?

The question is, am I any different than them? When I think about the reasons I made past choices, how can I be sure I'm not just making up shit now?

No, I'm not high. I haven't had drugs in almost a week.
