These are easily the worst City editions we've had since it's inception in 2018. Like usually there are a few bad apples but these ones are 90% bad. Even the ones that look decent, have almost zero creativity. Extremely disappointed with ours especially. Just stick with the light blue and orange man c'mon.

Without a doubt. I’ve actually genuinely liked a good handful of the City Editions every year, but jesus there’s no real highlights in this batch. There’s a few that are “alright” but so many are insulting to look at.

The Nuggets are really disappointing since I’ve liked the ones they’ve had for the most part, but this year looks like total nonsense.

I saw the San Antonio one earlier, and thought that they were a massive letdown after last year's awesome ones. Then I saw the other teams jerseys and realized we're all in the same boat.

Originally it was a cool concept but nows it just over done and has been for a few years. Feel like NBA should do what the mlb is doing and rotate a few teams each year for city jerseys instead of everyone gets a new one each year

Its like Nike hires these reps who know nothing about each city's culture and just throw in the most stereotypical slogan in there and call it a day.

"Hey whats in Orlando? Disney? They have a castle right? Make the jersey look kinda medieval i guess."

"But sir... They have lots of cool tropical trees and animals there and its sunny.."

"NOPE! and make it GRAY!"

They should do what the nhl does and have them as alternates. They don’t have to change every year. It’s okay if you have the same city jersey two years in a row if it’s a top seller

Exactly, for a span they were tolerable, but now it's the same shit over and over and over again, look at my boys from the bay, 3 straight black and gold jerseys, this time it represents the Filipino culture, I guess and the SF wordmark is curvy and on an incline due to the streets being that way. Neat concept, but looks goofy as fuck.

Also let teams keep the good ones! Why did we only get like 2 years of vice jerseys? Why can't the wizards do the stars and stripes every year?

Hate to remind you how fast time is passing but the Heat first did Vice jerseys when I was a 7th grader and I am now in college. It has maybe been a little more than 2 years

jesus christ this comment caused me physical pain

It’s hard to be genuinely creative when you have to make one of these every year for all 30 teams. I imagine you run out of ideas pretty quickly.

3 year cycle, 10 teams per year.

[–] The_Pip@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

And listen to the fans! Keep the ones fans liked. Like last year's Celtic's City Edition.

Great City Editions like these 2 examples need to be promoted to Statement Editions.

[–] VirtuousFool@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

But that's less money 😢

[–] thegreatprofessor@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

2 or 3 of these don’t suck and that’s pretty much the only nice thing I can say about them.

[–] thebigbadturtle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I was thinking it was bizarre for the Clippers one to have it’s most interesting details be the smallest. Why make the flower and the basketballs so tiny??

[–] koenigsaurus@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They range from “fine” to “absolute dogshit”. The churn of new designs every year runs the creativity well dry pretty quickly.

When the Nike contract is up, keep the number of uniform sets but drop the yearly refresh requirement. It’s a nightmare from a design and branding standpoint.
