I think the easiest way for me to watch this season is to increase my Hulu subscription to include LiveTV, and possibly buy youtube sunday ticket but it's outrageously expensive.

even the AP wrote about it: https://apnews.com/article/how-to-watch-nfl-streaming-1784047265cfe5c32adfb054d5ad970e

Edit: heading down to the boat dock isn’t viable in my household.

I basically was able to get my fill by watching the local games OTA and the Thursday prime games via twitch tv (broadcast by Amazon for free) and then Sunday Night on NBC (and ABC carried a huge amount of Monday Night games last season) I purchased NFL+ on thanksgiving to watch the end of season games that were on NFL network. I just missed out on the peacock/netflix/paramount games last year and will again this year.

I spent $10 total to watch NFL games last year and that’s all I will ever spend

I can’t get ota without a lot of effort. Rural, mountains.

Yeah, in the past I paid for Paramount+ for 2 NFL games a week (plus Star Trek Lower Decks would air at the same time). It was honestly a pretty good deal. But now I get that with Walmart+. So I get all the weekly games either OTA or with subscriptions I already have and I'm okay with missing out on the Netflix game.

The worst part is that my team isn't close to where I live. So I don't get them very often. But that has nothing to do with the piecemeal service. I would have to either get Sunday Ticket or go to a sports bar to see them. If I rooted for a local-ish team, I'd get to see them every week.

OTA works until the broadcasters move to the new broadcast standard (ATSC 3.0) and encrypt their streams. It locks out most digital boxes. In my area only NBC hasn't added DRM to their broadcast.

Only the digital boxes with a direct HDMI connection to a TV are allowed decryption keys at this point. This means if you want to watch on multiple TVs, you need an expensive box and antenna for each TV.

It's a shitty situation and I'm sailing this seas this year for my fucking local channels.
