She's also almost 1000 lbs now! I want to get 200-300 more on her before winter because she'll lose some when the cold comes in.

I'm really starting to think that she'll be able to be ridden come spring. Her energy is great, she's using all of her muscles daily, and is really starting to look good (despite the dirt)

I'm bad at math so idk lol. 300lbs is my hope for her. If she can go into winter chubby, she won't come out of it skin and bones like last year. She was barely 700 lbs in January and a lot of folks thought she was gonna die

Oof sorry to hear that. I only had two foals growing up but they took on weight just fine. Also I was a kid so if they didn't I probably wouldn't remember

Ah okay. Sandy is 26 so she's the opposite of a foal lol. Weight issues are par for the course with old horses, but it seems like Sandy's on the right track finally.
