I would love to hear some tips and mistakes, please. Some people seem to love working from home while others just can't get the hang of it.
100% remote worker here as well. If there's no magazine/group/whateveritscalled for us we should have one
I'm on it, give me a few.
e: !RemoteWork@fedia.io - just made it so you'll have to search for it, but it's there.
ee: /c/RemoteWork@fedia.io
Remote workers of the world, unite! (But you have to put on pants first, sorry.)
I never got the whole sloppy work from home vibe.
I mainly wore jeans but I always got fully dressed, hair fancy, cologne and deodorant, no different from going to an office.
I have a desk that is for work only. In stay there most of the day doing work (snacks excepted). When the day is over, I walk away.
I suppose some struggle with the temptations of home, but I always felt comfortable. Yes, leave some goof off time here and there, play with the cats, have a luxurious BM, but get your stuff done.
I never worked from the sofa, nor did I watch TV or movies from any screen. Lunchtime walks were good (and more snacks).
Ill be on camera and need to dress professionally. They also provide all the equipment.
No deal
In case you missed it, I just created !RemoteWork@fedia.io and posted there.
Your link is for a user (/u/) as opposed to a community (i. e., /c/remotework@fedia.io).
It is. I’ll fix it.
I don't see any posts there at all, yet. Is my reader broken?
I put in a "hello world" post just now.
I’m definitely in the latter category: working from home during the lockdowns and after I (mostly) wasn’t very productive and I felt very socially isolated. I felt like “the odd one out” in the group -even when I was doing what was expected of me. Removing the social interactions of the workplace weighted heavily on me, and I got back to in person work as quickly as i could.
