Autism is very much genetic. Autistic people suffer greater sensitivity to pain. Paracetamol consumption during pregnancy doesn't cause autism, chances are, Autism causes greater consumption of paracetamol.

til. i wonder if it has to do with their senses already being overloaded so it's harder to push pain out of focus.

Quite possible. If you've already got problems coping with regular stimuli it's reasonable that you'd have a harder time coping with pain stimuli too. Their pain receptors could be more sensitive than others or any number of other explanations.

Yup. Unless Tylenol and vaccines can time travel and edit human DNA they are not the cause. (of they could do all that, we have way bigger issues to deal with.) The only difference now is diagnosis and we're not leaving "imperfect" children to die in the woods.

Tylenol was first appeared in the timeline in 1955... the same year Marty McFly time traveled to.
