He thinks swing states will see him punish blue states, and that will motivate them to go Republican so they're not targeted...

Instead of the rational response from anyone with a shred of empathy: stopping maga from doing it again by voting blue

Everything trump is doing is setting up a progressive Dem to win in a landslide, and neo liberals lost their death grip on the DNC, so there's nothing to stop a progressive in the primary either.

We did that with Biden. Good thing he took his responsibility seriously and went after Trump for attempting to overthrow the government. Whoops, I guess he forgot that part of the plan.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago

Whoops, it's all Garland.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

We did that with Biden

The difference is this time we'll have a choice who the general candidate is...

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 1 points 5 days ago (2 children)

We thought that until they rigged the primary for Biden.

Remember how he wasn't even in the top 5 until they convinced all the other corporate candidates to drop out at the same time, but made sure Warren stayed in for one more round to knock Bernie out of first place?

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

If you didn't know Hillary, Biden, and Kamala were going to get shoved down our throats in 2016, 2020, and 2024...

Maybe you should listen to the people who saw it coming back then, when they tell you this time is different?

By you own admission, you're not good at predicting these things, so maybe you should listen to the people who have been good at predicting this stuff?

[–] timbuck2themoon@sh.itjust.works -2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

That's not rigging, that's politics. If you can't convince people to vote for you, that's your problem.

Bernie or Warren could've consolidated too but they didn't. And for all the people that did come out in the primaries, they thought Biden was best.

What youre describing is just being a sore loser.

Signed- someone who got off their ass and voted Bernie in 2020.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemmy.zip 2 points 5 days ago

Nope. What I'm describing is not letting the people choose, but artificially fucking with the available choices to advantage a particular candidate.

I also voted Bernie, but it was 5 months after the primary was supposedly already decided. Most of the country literally didn't have a choice between active campaigns. I can't be a sore loser of the game was over before I got a chance to play.

Where's the democracy?

From your lips to.... well I'm not religious so whatever, I guess your hips or something, but I hope this happens.

[–] the_q@lemmy.zip 5 points 6 days ago

Where can I get whatever it is you're ingesting to believe the way you do when reality is telling a much different story.

[–] someacnt@sh.itjust.works 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Well, what I heard is that Trump's supporter base is strengthening and growing. What if this news is biased, and the reality is even more grim? You know that people are beyond dumb.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 0 points 4 days ago

I don't understand what you're saying...

You saw something somewhere that goes against every other coverage on this, and you know it's biased but youre still thinking it's true?

Then you say people are "beyond dumb"...

I legitimately have no idea what you're trying to say
