I'm a sports fan (football, rugby, F1) and just looking to watch some more sports during breaks in the seasons for other sports so I'm not left bored. Basketball has always interested me - I played for a bit in school - but never watched it because it's not a huge thing here in England. The rules and things seem pretty complicated to someone who's never watched before (different scores for different types of shots, travelling etc.) so where do I even begin with trying to get myself into watching, and enjoying, the NBA?

Do you have any friends or family who are into the NBA? When I got into European football I knew nothing, but watching games at pubs with friends made it pretty easy.
