Hey!

I am currently trying to connect my home to my garage via fibre cable, I have a couple things picked out but can someone please verify everything would work together?

x2 TP-Link MC220L
x2 TP-Link TL-SM321B 1000Base-BX WDM Bi-Directional SFP Module
x1 OM3 50m Fiber Optic Cable

With the SFP Module can I just buy x2 of the same module since its "Bi-Directional"? or do I need to find A & B modules

I saw another cheaper option for Modules that come in a pair but unsure if they would be compatible?

Thank you in advance!

I would buy fs.com sfps as theyre way cheaper. All you need are a couple of 1gig sr sfps, dont need BiDi sfps. BiDi sfps are for tx/rx over a single core of optic fibre.

On another note, if Its only 50m, you could also potentially just run cat6 if you're not worried about electrical interference / cable's natural predators.

The cable would be buried in conduit across the yard along a path, everywhere I looked everyone is saying not to run Ethernet due to lighting ect ๐Ÿค”
