Is it practical? No. Is it less efficient? Yes. Is it fun? Apparently yes! Assuming Porsche will have a similar implementation it's more than just noise, it actually simulates a torque curve as you go through the gears.
Exactly people are getting all bent out of shape for something clearly not designed for them. There are already so many boring efficiency focused evs already on the market, let those of us who want a fun engaging car to drive get in on the EV fun as well ๐
