She self declared that she was an illegal immigrant at the age of 5. That doesn't meet the lawful threshold to deport. It is multiple times more evidence than used to disappear so many other people. HOWEVER we cannot justify deporting this imbecile without opening floodgates to deport others. Let's just destroy her career, buy nothing from her, make her too shitty for anyone to follow. Lets see if the infamously racist MAGA faithful buy her products.

The floodgates are already open. I honestly don't see how this could make it worse?

Practically, this doesn't make a difference. It's all symbolic. And symbolically, I think this is all wrong. I want people to be able to go where they please, within a country but also between countries. Calling it illegal to exist in a place, when they have done no harm to anyone, is all kinds of fucked up to me. Support Freedom of movement

Sad to say I agree. ICE have no real opposition. Plus the people and communities hurt by the (illegal) deportations are rightly, so incredibly angry.

Does any of the MAGA base actually listen to Nicki?

[–] HisArmsOpen@crust.piefed.social 13 points 4 days ago

Highly unlikely. Justice is served.

They might now.

They're already deporting others, with more malice than evidence. If we can stop the machine, we absolutely should. Until we can stop the machine, at least let it focus on grinding up the shitty people who thought it was a good idea in the first place.
