this is why i won't invest in games with DRM and games lacking a good single player experience. MMO's the exception

this could have had a nice campaign mode with a multiplayer mode added. even if community moved on you would still have a story to go back to.

in today's reality art and mechanics live at the mercy of the publisher unless someone reverse engineers the backend ~~

I really enjoyed FFXIV for a few months a couple of years back (my character there is still my profile picture here) but I really prefer to own my games now. I can go back and play Skyrim any time I want to, but if I want to boot up FFXIV I have to either make a new trial account or basically buy it again, and after a month, I'll be back in exactly the same position.
