He's been bad, but part of this is probably people inside the Patriots organization unable to accept that the average quarterback is not Tom Brady and can't fix everything himself. Might be time to reexamine other aspects of the organization as well.

"They've been sold this smart, efficient, game-managing quarterback and they're not getting it."

That's on the organization...

Packers fans are learning this right now...probably a little quicker than NE

Or literally the reason you'd ever think Mac is a first round pick was due to his "smarts" and decision making versus his physical skills, so then when it turns out he's actually not smart enough to make up for his other shortcomings of course you'd be frustrated.

Yeah, also his best offensive weapon is Mondre, who no shade to him, is a borderline RB1. Kendrick was looking promising but he's gone. The ghosts of Henry, Parker, and Juju are not a receiving corps.

“They got sold…”

And then they immediately beat it out of him because he disagreed with the OC sometimes.

Funny how when you completely fuck up development of your players they don’t do well innit….

I highly doubt anyone on planet earth thinks Jones is equivalent to Brady.

Man can you imagine what a luxury it would be to have Tom Brady on your team running the offense for 15+ years? Like what did the offensive coaches even do?

[–] RoadPersonal9635@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I will always be a Mac fan. I hate not knowing what could have been if he had a real OC in his second year. His growth looked exponential and hit a brick wall.

This is exactly right.

You can get away with having a mediocre roster when you have the GOAT at QB.

Not to mention Brady was taking pay cut year after year.

It's almost like the "if you're always eating shit, you think shit tastes pretty good." but the opposite. Some of those old goons will think every QB is Brady until the day they die.

I agree with what you are saying. But Mac Jones isn’t average. He’s just straight up a pile of crap.

[–] lilboytuner919@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

“First guy in last guy out kinda guy”

[–] belizeanheat@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They would GLADLY take average.

He's bottom tier

[–] LightningSack@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It seems like Mac is desperate to make a play because his team sucks. Game managers are fine if they have good teams

Isn’t that why they brought back “qb guru” Bill O’Brien? When he wants to, he can coach up a journeyman to career high stats, but if he’s dealt a shit hand, like getting Osweiler when he wasn’t consulted, he’ll forego trying as hard, dropping any attempt to work on fundamentals until he’s givin another toy to work with
