What player in the NFL, past or present, would you have wanted to see succeed so badly but due to injuries, off the field issues, or whatever happened just derailed their career? For me it was unfortunate to see players like Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon have their careers end or never getting back on track because of off-field issues.

Chris Borland, the ultimate one year wonder.

Speaking of niners LBs, Bowman and Willis did have more success but were still done too early due to injuries.

Willis was great though, 5 time all pro, made the all decade team, HoF candidate. A few more years of solid play might have been the difference between making the HoF or not, but he’s on a completely different level than Bowman and Borland

Bowman was a beast. Made 1st team All-Pro 4 times in 5 years (he missed an entire season to injury) and probably deserved to make the all decade team more than Willis since he was more successful during the 2010s decade. Borland is the one who is on a completely different level.
