What player in the NFL, past or present, would you have wanted to see succeed so badly but due to injuries, off the field issues, or whatever happened just derailed their career? For me it was unfortunate to see players like Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon have their careers end or never getting back on track because of off-field issues.

Leonard Weaver, Eagles fullback. Joined the Eagles in 2009 and got first team All Pro. In 2010 he tore his ACL on the first carry, it was such a nasty injury and he never played another NFL snap.

That 2010 Eagles team was so good, and is kinda slept on because they got bounced in the Wildcard due to two flukey missed short FGs from a very solid kicker. The team that beat them was Aaron Rodgers' Packers who won the Superbowl that year.

So maybe in some bizarre alternate universe, Weaver stays healthy, the Birds win the Superbowl, Rodgers doesn't get a ring ever, Andy probably doesn't get fired after 2012 (what kind of team will fire a coach 2 years after bringing home the first Superbowl for a team?) and Mahomes never becomes Mahomes.

Leonard Weaver is the ultimate NFL butterfly effect
