Says who? I choose purposefully to let things be more free from as that is what I have observed from other science communication communities. A science community without room to experiment isn't much of a science community.

As I said, viewing it as entryship into GIS solely by the question of "what is GIS" because it is one of the labels is fair enough, but it is a very loose connection. A science community without reviewing those experiments is also not much of a science community.
