That's uhhh, not how that works. You can't hold ground with bombs and missiles. And the Army is absolutely capable of holding ground against bombs and missiles. Nukes are, obviously, another story.
Naw you're right, but I only meant that the most critical parts of our military we would need on our side are USN/USAF. While you are correct the US Army would be the most ideal force to hold land, this task could also be completed by NG or insurgency BLUFOR. But yeah obviously the Army would be more successful and have more ass like AH-64s, MBTs, and IFVs and professional soldiers trained in occupation.
But you cannot secure additional land and project force without sea and air superiority. I'd also add USAF's Cyber Command authority as well (I'm not sure if USSF has fully adopted this role yet). I'm also not sure which branch is doing the most work in drone tech, but I'd imagine it would have to be either USAF or USN as we've seen in Ukraine, this will also be a major factor in modern, mechanized warfare.
And yeah you're also correct, ultimately none of this matters if our Strategic Forces are in the wrong hands. Nuclear remains the "nuclear" option.
