TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags.
Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

What is the purpose of a comment like this in a trek fan community?
I'm a trek fan who is hurt by the latest show? Is this trek community not a place to share our experience of trek? Or is it cheerleading only here?
Nobody is required to like any new Trek shows. People have been discussing it already, and many dislike it. I don't really care if you like it or not.
The problem is a drive-by comment definitively stating it in this way, on a meme that has nothing really to do with Academy at all, reeks of toxicity. It's what plagues EVERY Discovery post here, and almost everywhere else on the internet. It's not productive, and discourages any post about those shows. Notice how there are virtually zero posts about Discovery or Picard here, and most elsewhere. The few times they come up, they are filled with flamewars and fighting and always turns toxic and unenjoyable.
It is a reflection of the general state of trek culture that it keep appearing everywhere. It is so important to the community in general that we can't help but bring it up when we're triggered by the sight of one of the characters in the show. I can't even enjoy Picardo because he's a reminder of the disappointment and pain this current show brings me. Is that not fair to express here? Posts don't exist for your enjoyment and if the current sentiment on trek is divisive then that's the state of our community and that's what going to fill discussions.
You're not wrong, but Robert Picardo still is a well-respected actor and I hope he got compensated well for starring in that show.
He’s delightful every time he’s onscreen.
