What player in the NFL, past or present, would you have wanted to see succeed so badly but due to injuries, off the field issues, or whatever happened just derailed their career? For me it was unfortunate to see players like Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon have their careers end or never getting back on track because of off-field issues.

As a Browns fan, the first one that comes to mind is Tim Couch. He was picked out of Kentucky to be our first QB of the re-born Browns in 1999. He had all the tools, and seemed like a really decent guy as well. But the owners failed to put protection in front of him and a solid team around him, despite a really favorable expansion draft deal. He got pounded into oblivion behind that O-line and was never the same again. They destroyed that man's career, and set the franchise on a downward spiral that they're just STARTING to climb out of.
