What you guys can't see is how the worst Santos in history, with the power of friendship and Pelé's ghost, is escaping relegation after the most generic relegation run I've ever seen. The team:

  • Had 4 couches this championship, being Paulo Turra, Odair Hellman, Diego Aguirre and our lord and savior, Marcelo "Presuntinho" Fernandes;

  • Had some of the most abysmal losses I've ever seen, like a 7x1 against Internacional and a 3x0 against relegation team Cruzeiro played at home;

  • Team was punished with a few matches without public after throwing fireworks in the pitch against Corinthians.

What else did we survive through this chaotic season? Then, Pelé's ghost gave us a win against winner contender Grêmio, we hired a random argentinian who was playing in México and turned out to be a god, and the interim coach turned out to be a magician who can harness the power of frindship to make us win games from behind, while visiting much stronger teams (we won from behind against Palmeiras, Flamengo and Bahia away). I love this fucking club.

You still have a really difficult last run of games. I wouldn't count you out of the race yet.

We actually have the easiest matches of all the teams fighting relegation. There was a statistics post from globoesporte about that a couple days ago. São Paulo and Fluminense are no longer interested in the championship, Botafogo is one of the worst teams right now, Fortaleza at home is doable. Athletico away is hard.

But you're right, too early to comemorate anything.
