I've been looking into getting myself a Complete Physical Collection of Doctor Who and while everything 11th and Onwords I'll Likely go with Bluray for the Better Quality, I'm not sure about 9-10?

I did Originally Watch Those on TV Back in the Day, Noting that the Quality most Certainly wasn't even near HD. So I can't help but wonder if those Series where even made in HD in the First Place? If they weren't HD I may as well go with the Cheaper DVDs...

What do you Folks think?

"Planet of the Dead" was the first episode of New Who made in HD.

If you're in a PAL country then the 2023 UK boxset of the 9th & 10th doctor era is the best way to get them on Bluray (and the first Region B release at the correct frame rate).

The main advantage of the bluray over the DVDs is the use of the H264 codec and industrial upscaling (thankfully not AI upscaling!) used on the boxset. Effectively it's as close as we will get to the master tapes for those episodes. So whilst you won't see a massive step up in picture quality between the DVDs and blurays for the 2005-2008 episodes, personally I thought it was worthwhile doing (plus it's convenient having them all in the one boxset).

Yes I am in a Pal Country, which is actually why I wanna ask if there is a German Dub version of this Boxset as Well? Would love to watch these with some German only Friends!

There is a recent German release of these episodes in two boxsets: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Doctor-Who-Christopher-Eccleston-Der-komplette-Neunte-Doktor-Blu-ray/395208/ https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Doctor-Who-David-Tennant-Der-komplette-Zehnte-Doktor-Blu-ray/395205/

I can't find much about them, although Amazon and a few online bluray stores I can find (I'm in Australia so not familiar with most EU or German distributors) lists them as having the German audio.
