Iwa Jima, guam, midway, all that pacific ocean area they fought the japanese for.

That and or a swallow based logistic system as someone else suggested.

[–] tektite@slrpnk.net 10 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Not at all. They could be carried.

[–] qc_butter1@infosec.pub 6 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

What -- a swallow carrying a coconut?

[–] tektite@slrpnk.net 5 points 19 hours ago

It could grip it by the husk!

Were coconuts not commonplace in Europe?

[–] thebardingreen@lemmy.starlightkel.xyz 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Coconuts are tropical! This is a temperate zone!

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 1 points 13 hours ago

So that's a no even for southern Europe, right next to the Mediterranean?🤔
