I observed that lately refs call goaltend very often. In previous seasons i saw maybe 1 or 2 per a few games and now i see goaltends 1 or 2 per game. Did they change something or they are looking more carefully for it?

The average number of goaltending violations this year is 0.31 per game. Last season was 0.25 and all 10 previous seasons have the avarage of 0.23. So yes, it migh be somewhat higher, but we're only about 10 games into the season, so many statistics might be skewed.

This season, Charlotte is leading the league in goaltending violations with 1.0 per game and Washingon and Houston have 0.0, but if you check the game logs, only CHA had 3 twice, Utah had 3 once and last night Indy had 4. So if you watched these games, yeah, it might seem odd, but overall, I'd say it's pretty normal.

I noticed it more than ever im highlights.
