/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

"Star Trek Robot Tattoo"

Excuse me?

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 28 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

To be fair, he shows up in '09.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 21 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

It was always a mistake to give the reins to JJ "what's a plot?" Abrams

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 10 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

He was "profitable," but not successful in our eyes. And of course that led to Kurtzman.

Here's to a hopeful and better future.

Will say that I liked Academy for the most part.

I also liked Academy. I think that was the influence of Tawney Newsome

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Oh, baby. Her episode was so much fun.

[–] negativenull@piefed.world 4 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

She is also a writer and executive producer on the show. She has a lot of influence on this show it seems.

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Yup, just remarking on her inclusion of "you know who" and "you know what" as the pivot for that episode.

[–] negativenull@piefed.world 2 points 20 hours ago

She was super fun in that episode, yes.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 4 points 21 hours ago

Just finished S1 of Academy and we could argue all day long whether it was trek or not, but it was a great watch and betrayed nothing.

You mean jj "mYsTeRy BoX" abrams?

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 5 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

It still boggles my mind that people watched "Lost" and then wanted more of that ridiculous bullshit

A little sloppy on the landing, but then that's always been his failing.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

Its plot was all over the fucking place but yeah, that was good shit
