So I have an old 2015 i5 (2.8ghz quad core) with one of those amazing super fast fusion hdd garbage drives and an old 2018 macbook pro i9 (the toaster with jet engine one) and I was wondering how useful these would be for homelab use? I know what I can run om them and how to install Linux and stuff. Just wanna know how useful they really are.

I run dockerized home assistant, node red, mosquitto and zigbee2mqtt on a repurposed 2013 mac mini with ubuntu. It is my server dedicated to smart home stuff.
