First Amazon now Tinder... Who gave them the idea the term "camera roll" is a thing? Nobody "shops their camera roll" or allows "scanning their camera roll". Where the fuck did this shit come from?
EDIT: I'm old enough, by far, to know the origin of the term, i just think it's stupid that companies are suddenly using it in commercials over more common modern terms like gallery
You just outed yourself as young. It's a holdover from physical film cameras, when film came in a roll. I'm digital, it's just your "photos taken on this device" folder
Camera roll comes from the fact that cameras used to use a roll of film to take pictures with...
lol... I feel fking old now...
Other commenters have pointed out the terms actual origins, but on modern devices it got started as a term that was used way back on the original iPhones/devices
