The most unnatural thing in the world is trying to be 🗿 after something upsetting or amazing happens.

I understand if something is unsportsmanlike like but at this point it feels like players are being thrown out for just getting excited about a nice play.

As a new viewer these are some of the strangest calls I've seen in any sport.

The inner skeptical in me is curious if this is a way for refs to manipulate match scores to some degree because it feels so random and out of place.

Edit: meanwhile Dray having a 10 year old childs meltdown every 5 minutes without repercussions? What's that about...

No one gave the real answer which is The Malice at the Palace.

Football, Hockey, Baseball all have a combination of a couple things going for it that NBA does not if fights break out. Namely:

  1. The players are more padded/ the surface is softer.
  2. The fans are very far away.

The worst case scenario for the NBA is a player gets seriously injured in a fight (paralyzed/death) or a fan gets involved and seriously injured. NBA players aren’t trained fighters, it’s within the realm of possibility a punch KO’s a player and he breaks his neck on a stanchion.

It’s not necessarily the “emotion” that gets T’ed up. It’s if the refs sense a hint of antagonism to the other team.

Rudy T/Kermit Washington backs your assertion.

Has there been a history of fighting? I don't see why it would occur during basketball of all sports? Someone post some clips!!

I don’t disagree. To the league office, it probably just feels like it’s not worth the risk to loosen up at the moment.
