If this has already been discussed ad nauseam, I apologize, but the number of “is this watch fake” post seems to be growing at an uncontrolled rate. Replica watches have an outright ban, yet people seem to have found a way to circumvent this rule by posting photos of replicas and posing it as a question as to if they are, in fact, fake. Some Reddit users have even speculated that many of these post are just scammers “testing the waters” to see if their replicas will pass the eye test. 95% of the time these watches are obviously fake, (i.e. if you have to ask, you already know the answer) and the number of these posts daily are simply cluttering up the timeline, in my opinion. There is already another sub r/isthiswatchfake (although only currently 7 members, lol) where I think these post should be directed to in the future.
I don't get why this is such a big deal. I like seeing photos of watches - sometimes these posts, stupid and mala fide as they may be, introduce me to an obscure watch (though possibly fake), or remind me of a pretty watch I've forgotten about. When it's obviously fake, I have a good laugh, cringe inwardly, downvote, read the comments flaming the OP, and have a good day. If I don't care about it, I just scroll past. It's never caused me as much stress and irritation as it seems to cause so many others on this sub!
