A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

So i've been trying to print a photo i've made...

I know it's not the best photo but it keeps coming out with issues i can't see on my monitor. Namely artifacts that seem to result from light blooming from the subject.

It seems like the printer at my local photography store (should be a fairly modern one) has trouble printing the gradient. Or rather, something in my file is telling it to insert darker colors in the middle of this gradient, and now i have this dark rainbow shaped blob that places itself along the borders of that gradient.

Anybody know what i'm doing wrong and how i can combat these artifacts? I'm going nuts.

Pics of issue and source file are right below this text so you can check it out yourself (those of you working at a print shop perhaps?)

I must admit I had trouble seeing it at first, but I'm viewing on an android phone ๐Ÿ˜

If you're trying to print a jpeg, that is probably the cause. Try exporting the original raw file as a Tiff.. You might get better results. If the original is a jpg, it might still be salvageable...
