I don’t believe human rights violations committed against Muslims in China is bullshit.
Y’all just believe whatever foreign governments say? I bet you believe that Israel isn’t committing genocide against Palestine.
If you want to play a game send me a source of the humans rights violations and I'll try to find where their are citing Adrian Zenz.
If you believe in anything Adrian Zenz has to say you are a fool.
Can you tell me about why he is untrustworthy? I’m arguing with a lot of people in the comments but that’s just people being jerks without giving any real reasoning or arguments, but I’m open to learning about other points of view on many topics if it’s a respectful conversation.
EDIT: I double checked the Amnesty International report and it doesn’t seem to source Zenz from what I can tell.
Here’s a link.
Their real report is this one is quite extensive.
The last paragraph is:
The report is here.
The report cite Zenz 2 times directly and probably more indirectly.
He is a propagandist that works for Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation. And What Dr. Zenz has to say about gaza? NOTHING in fact he's spend his time criticizing Palestine: prints
Apologies, I’m not seeing any direct citing of Zenz. Am I missing it? I did a Ctrl+F search to make sure and I’m not seeing his name on that report at all.
Zenz is not the OHCHR and had never been one.
Additionally, I have people arguing with me in the comments that the UN says genocide was debunked but that quote shows the opposite.
Ehhh quotes normally is with the surname and abbreviate name. Ctrl + f returns 2 A. Zenz in the OHCHR report.
The thing about Zenz, almost every thing about Uyghur genocide cites him direly like OHCHR did or indirectly like Amnesty did(citing another source that cites him).
What OHCHR is quoting is: "Thoroughly Reforming them Toward a Healthy Heart Attitude" and “Wash Brains, Cleanse Hearts”: Evidence from Chinese Government Documents about the Nature and Extent of Xinjiang’s Extrajudicial Internment Campaign both written by Zenz
We have endless footage of the genocide in Gaza despite the massive surveillance from Israel, we have no footage of any genocide in Xinjiang, serious allegations like that need evidence
So if Israel had only captured Palestinians and put them in forced labor camps or sterilized women you wouldn’t believe that either? Human rights violations only count if you blow up a building I guess.
I don’t understand your logic.
the only evidence we have come from clearly biases sources; either directly from the western gov'ts or organizations that are enabled by western gov'ts.
evidence from gaza comes from some random guy on the streets with a smartphone.
But the only reports we have of it being a hoax are from China. I don’t want to trust either government. I don’t see why we would blindly believe one jus because it’s the opposition.
I’m sort of in the middle. Yes, human rights violations have been happening there but, also that Western governments exaggerated or embellish reports on it.
there are plenty of non-chinese sources that say this (eg UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Amsterdam University Academics, etc.).
the problem is that these viewpoints are not parroted by western media, so it's up to you to look for it rather than been spoonfed propaganda saying that it is happening.
i would love to see the measure you're using for this insane take. lol
That’s fair, but what about victims’ first hand accounts?
the freedom of information act shows a decades long storied history of people getting paid and pushed to make up shit about the places they've come from.
also gusanos (as in cubano gusano) are a thing.
So? That doesn’t mean none of the stories are true.
To me, your argument is similar to those who don’t believe rape victims because at least one woman has lied about it in the past.
i’m not saying every account is false. the problems is how these stories are treated as automatically credible without scrutiny, especially when there’s documented evidence of coordinated disinformation campaigns and done by the perpetrators no less.
we don’t base policy on individual testimony alone -- look for patterns, corroboration, and motive. when a government or a well-funded exile group has a demonstrated interest in shaping public opinion, skepticism isn’t the same as victim-blaming. it’s just basic due diligence.
Gaza is the most controlled strip of land on Earth, yet we have endless video of carnage
Xinjiang is a tourist mecca that saw 300 million smartphone-wielding visitors from around the world last year, yet we have zero evidence of abuse
Make it make sense
