There have been reports of water forming around the heart due to oral minoxidil. It needs to be tested that the oral extended release version is safe. The problem is only a small percentage might have this potentially lethal side effect, so it needs to be tested very throughly

Minoxidil is also a super potent blood pressure medicine. I don't have the numbers obviously, but this is already widely available at compounding pharmacies so I imagine there are probably thousands of people already using it.

It has a black box warning about potentially fatal side effects. Everyone using it is using it off label for regrowing hair and trying to micro dose it. There are plenty of safer blood pressure medications. The hope is that by using extended release the blood concentration never peaks.
