Eh, at the risk of being overly pithy, the bottom line is that when you have the most wins in NBA history, all for your current team and have brought 5 titles to a city having no business being a long time contender, much less 22-23 seasons worth of it, you've pretty much have earned the ability to do whatever the fuck you want. If that means running Sochan out there at point, respect the balls to make a hard call and stick it out.
Just guessing because maybe they really do want to turn Jeremy into Ben Simmons but not a diva with back problems, but I think they are throwing him into the fire with the expectation he will come out the other side as a blend of Boris Diaw at his athletic peak and Draymond but slightly less crazy/mean/dirty. Capable of running the offense in spurts but being a secondary playmaker on the wing while a lock down defender on the other end.
Eventually, I think Pop sends Keldon to the 6th man role, they spend draft picks on a PG this off season, and go from there.
I don't think we are quite THIS bad. There has been a lack of effort and loss of confidence as evidenced by some absurd blowouts. That's the discouraging part, but here again, Pop is challenging them. Teams adjust and try to take you out of what you want to do. He's driving them to shore up the weakest parts of their game instead of running a steady diet of "fuck it, Wemby down there somewhere"
Trust in Pop. Always.
