[Discussion] Will you switch from an expensive brand to a cheaper brand? (alien.top)

The other day I posted to ask about what watch should I get for my Dad. I just found out that he is wearing Movado, which is much more expensive than what I could get for him. Do yall think if I gift him a Bulova/Citizen/Seiko it would be fine? Would someone wearing an expensive watch like an average brand?

I dont know anything about watches so pls dont get too harsh on me. I’m just want to buy a gift for my Dad

I don't have many luxury/more expensive watches in my collection yet. I have a handful of casios and G-Shocks that are all in the $20 to $100 range and a nice citizen eco-drive I got myself last year that was like $300 and I wear them all pretty equally. My Citizen is more of a dress watch, so I tend to wear my casios and g-shocks more everyday. My boyfriend and I are currently shopping for engagement watches in the 6k-7k range. I'm excited to get and wear it and I'll definitely wear it a lot, but I'm still planning on wearing my casio watches and my citizen too. I bought my Citizen watch for myself as a celebratory gift for paying off my student loans and the sentimentality of it that is nice to be reminded of, even if I own a much more expensive watch that I could wear too. I think if your dad is the kind of person who appreciates thoughtful gifts he'd definitely wear it! It's the thought that counts imo.
