I’m planning on grabbing some more Asimov books and grab most of Martha’s MurderBot series, as well as Hugo and Nebula collections.

Any other sci-fi type stuff you guys recommend? I’m not a huge fan of the more fantasy stuff, although I agree Star Wars falls into that catagory.

I love science fiction and it’s what I read most. The Expanse series by James SA Corey if you haven’t read it. Fantastic series!

A few other authors I’ve enjoyed:

  • Megan E. O’Keefe
  • Blake Crouch, Dark Matter was my first and favorite
  • Any X-Files book
  • Any Star Trek book
  • Jessie Mihalik
  • Kit Rocha, this is more dystopian
  • John Scalzi, highly recommend The Kaiju Preservation Society but any of his books are good
  • Michael Crichton has some good scifi adjacent almost believe it’s real life books
  • The Memory Police by Yōko Ogawa
  • Annalee Newitz
  • The Hidden Girl and Other Stories by Ken Liu

Ok, that’s going through the last 4 years of my reading log lol

Some extra love for Blake Crouch. He wrote this three-srory book (there's gotta be a word for that), where the first book was Run. That was my introduction to Blake Crouch, and holy cow, what a story. Recursion was fun. Most recently of his I read Famous, which was a real departure from the norm for him, but also still him.

Anthology or Composite novel. Was kinda hard to find. I don't know if them being interconnected to create a larger narrative is a hard qualifier for composite novel.

Anthology is definitely the word I was looking for, but I just didn't know it at the time.

I also don't know if anthology is only stuff that was compiled later, or if it includes works that were meant to be unrelated and published together.

I picked up Famous at the book crawl a few weeks ago, it’s on my list to read soon. I’ve read everything else except his Wayward Pine trilogy, I’m still looking for the second. I read Dark Matter when it was first published. He’s one author that I will purchase any unread book as soon as I see it.

Run was crazy intense! I read that a few years ago, is it part of a series?

The three stories were unrelated to each other, so not a series unfortunately. But maybe for the best.

Wayward Pines was fun, definitely got something to look forward to.
