Nice! One of my absolute favourite games ever. I think it’s my second most played game of all time too. Something like 1300-1500 hours I’m pretty sure.
I agree about the pricing, it’s awful. About as confusing as it could possibly be, but I always try to get people to give it a chance regardless.
Chongqing is one of my favourite levels for sure. Probably top three. I think Sapienza will always be my favourite due to nostalgia (and that’s where most of my playtime is in), I started playing back in 2016 so that’s a decade of Hitman for me which is crazy to think about, so obviously I’ll have more nostalgia for the Hitman 1 levels, but it’s telling that a Hitman 3 level made it to top three for me.
I was planning on playing some Minecraft with my wife tonight but if she decides to crochet instead I might mess around in Chongqing instead. You’ve got me in the mood for some Hitman.
Dang!! That's some time! I'm still playing through the main campaign (once I finish a level I replay it 3-4 times), I'm super excited to try out all the extra challenges & Freelancer mode. Honestly the story has pulled me in more than I expected, it's really well told.
I actually started with Hitman 2 back in 2020, but only put a lot of time in Miami. My current favorite levels are: Sapienza (just gorgeous), Miami, Sgail, Dubai, Berlin, & now Chongqing. I love playing with no hints, it's super satisfying figuring out how to navigate the level myself. Shame the game leaves mission stories with full guidance unless you change it - feels way too on-rails.
Great list. All those are top maps for me too. I’d also add Hokkaido and Vermont (Whittleton Creek) to that list personally, especially Hokkaido. I’d probably say top three in order would be Sapienza, Hokkaido, Chongqing.
When you’re done with the main story, definitely check out the extra stories. Patient Zero is probably my favourite, especially the last level, but all of them are great. I found Seven Deadly Sins to be the most challenging personally. Sniper mode is also a ton of fun too. Really, all of it is. I could just list every part of the game at this point actually, I just love Hitman.
If you’re into watching games on YouTube, OutsideXbox has my favourite Hitman content personally. I’d highly recommend checking out their Three Ways to Play series, it’s especially hilarious if you know their personalities well but even if you don’t, you’ll enjoy them anyway. They’ve got a ton of Hitman content though and it’s all great. I’ve probably seen all the videos several times now. They’ve even done a live action Hitman one which was super neat and got a bit chaotic at parts, in the best way possible of course.
Yes I love Hokkaido! I need to go back & explore it some more but I love how it does more with a smaller area. That's exciting! I'll check out thsoe extra missions too, and yeah I love doing Suit Only Sniper Assassin - it's such a test of patience and map knowledge.
Love OutsideXbox! I'll check out their videos on the game
Without spoiling anything, the best level from a side story (imo) is on Hokkaido. You’ll have to work your way to it though.
I used to speedrun silent assassin suit only on Sapienza, that’s where I got a bunch of my hours in the game. I never beat any records or anything but I got pretty decent I’d like to think. I don’t remember my stats anymore though, that was years ago now.
OX used to be my favourite channel and is still up there, and I’d say their Hitman content is their peak. I’ve been watching them since their very early days when they were a small channel, and I’ve probably seen every video they’ve ever put out, and I’d still say Hitman is their best stuff. Definitely give it a watch.
